Escaping My Abuser

The first picture was taken on March 13th 2013 ~ the day I landed in the UK after leaving my abusive (ex) husband. I left him on March 12th, but due to the time difference, I arrived the next day.

The second was taken on May 25th 2013 ~ the day I was returning to the US to collect some of my belongings, close the negative bank accounts, plus more, just forty-three days after I escaped my abuser. Look at the long, dark mark on my arm…

Two years ago today, I escaped my abuser and reclaimed my rights, my life, my freedom.

This was me when I met *Steve, and before moving to the US:

I am back at this stage, and boy, does it feel good! I stepped out with my 1950’s look for the first time last Saturday ~ a completely new me!

My son is healthy and developing really well. He has everything he needs, and bit too much of what he wants too! 😀

It’s taken quite some time to get to this point, but I made it. I really hope both women and men who are in abusive relationships, find the courage to leave. There is light at the end of the tunnel, even if one cannot see it at first. There is life after abuse.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day/weekend.

Much love. ❤

  1. Happy anniversary I guess? It’s strange how life sometimes has milestones that we never expected. It may be bittersweet, but as you said there is always hope.
